How I figure out Sizes in MLP:Friendship is magic.

I was in a bit of a creative slump after watching the top 10 WTF moments in anime by Anime America. So to pull myself out of that slump I browsed forums. Looked up stuff from the internet and found a question about how big is an mlp pony? In fair retrospect, the approach to size in most of these cartoons is fast and loose. Not as loose as Steven Universe but proportionately the ponies were designed to be cute kind of like babies and also be sell-able as toys. Which is probably the reason they have about the same proportions as a puppy dog. This was a doodle in answer to that question. It's scary how easy it is to fall back into stock proportion rendering. The next study I'd like to work on is silhouette diversity.

The pony at the end of the doodle tutorial is a pony who acts like a dog then I dogified the pony. I didn't allow for people to modify or make any changes to this tutorial however. I don't want anyone to get in trouble with Hasbro and Fair Use rights I think fall under education, commentary and this page is just a study of how big a pony would be  compared to the animals in our world. Again these cartoon's approach to size and accurate science is fast and loose so take what you want from here and apply your own voice to whatever you think is right for you.
